Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter with Surface Pro 3 Resolution Problem

My Surface Pro 3 is fully updated with the latest firmware and updates and the wireless display also has the latest updates.

When I have my bluetooth on and I connect to the wireless display adapter, my TV's max resolution that I can set is 1366 x 768 but when I turn my bluetooth off first and then connect to the wireless display adapter I can set my TV to 1920 x 1080.

It's kind of annoying to have to turn bluetooth off first before I connect to my tv. Is there something I can do to fix this issue?

    Hi 

    I have a LCD display of resolution 800x480 with hdmi input . For mirroring my laptop screen (Samsung notebook with Windows 8.1 or Surface Tablet) to the display ,am using Microsoft Wireless display adapter . Initially I checked with my monitor display (1920x1080) it worked fine. When i connect the Display adapter to my small Lcd display it shows black screen always.

    So  MSDA supports only 1080p output ?  Are there any steps to make the MSDA transmitter output to 480p so that i can connect my Lcd display .

    I'm back on the topics.

    Updated my surface Pro 2 to W10. Experience is the same still degraded mode if BT is on. And the Wireless Display AppStore is not anymore seing me connected to a Wireless display when I'm.

    Why an update in march was decreasing our experience of this device ??? Incredible!

    I'm having the same problem.  However, even after I successfully connect at full HD with BT mouse turned off, if I then turn the BT mouse on, my wireless connection to the TV drops.  Has anyone figured out a way to resolve this issue?

    Just updated to Windows 10 on the i5 Surface Pro 3 and I'm now getting 1080p with bluetooth on, although some text does not look overly crisp.

    Not that it will make any difference but I will be sending a follow up email to Microsoft Support in regards to the case I had with them for this one...they were pushing me to replace the device!!!

    This shows it would have achieved nothing except wasting more of my time and causing a major inconvenience because there support process is to make you send back the Surface and you have to wait till they receive it before they send you a replacement. This is one area where HP is superior.

    Has any one installed the driver from the Intel website that gives the the ability to make custom resolutions? Just wondering if you still get a reliable 1080p with the MWDA after doing this.

    I should have put in my original message that I did that -- albeit via the "notification centre" icon on the task bar -- and the device didn't appear in the connect window.  :-(

    Wasn't sure if there was some other step I should do as well.  I'll power down/reboot the SP3 tonight.  I have noticed that sometimes (and I would think especially after the conversion to W10) that I might have some patches still waiting to install.
