Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter with Surface Pro 3 Resolution Problem

It is my understanding that the MWDA uses Miracast which uses Wi-Fi DIrect to establish a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi connection and thus doesn't go through a router. If this is the case, then why is the GHz of my router even a question? In any case, I'm using the latest Apple AirPort Extreme, which I assume is operating at 5GHz.

So, yes it is direct. But, if you are connected to the router at 5GHz then the connection to the MWDA will be 5GHz. If you are connected to the router at 2.4GHz, then the Miracast connection is 2.4GHz.

Apple by default uses the same SSID name for both bands, so unless you changed manually. If you start the SP3 with the mouse flattened do you still have lower res? I have full 1920 x1080..

Yes. The mouse was flattened (paired, but not connected) when I unboxed and setup the MWDA and I experienced the lower resolution. In fact, the Arc Mouse was in a drawer in the next room. It wasn't until I read somewhere online about a possible compatibility issue that I even thought to look for the mouse. I had to disconnect it the Bluetooth Settings screen on the Surface before I could get 1920x1080.

Is you wireless connected via 5GHz or 2.4GHz (don't know what router you have).  I'm connected over 5GHz here and I don't see the issue with the mouse flattened.

Same thing here. With an Arc Mouse (Surface Edition) paired but not connected, I get the lower resolution. Flattening the mouse has no effect. In fact, it was flat (i.e. not connected) the whole time when I unboxed and installed the MWDA.  Both the Surface 3 Pro 3 and MWDA have the latest updates.

If you power the SP3 on after a complete shutdown  with the mouse flattened do you still have lower res? I have full 1920 x1080..

Do you have any Bluetooth devices besides the Pen?
