Micorosoft Surface RT won't connect to microsoft account or updat

Hi there,

I have tried to sign into my Microsoft Account to connect the Surface RT, but every time it ends up with a message : "Sorry, we couldn't connect to Microsoft services right now. If this problem persists, search for "network problems" on the Start screen"

I have checked the clock, which is one of the culprits as per the forums, but i don't see any problem with it.

I have reset the surface to see if that would reset something but same result.

I have Run the WSReset.exe to same result.

I do not know what to do, without the Microsoft login, I can not do anything through the Microsoft Store.

Cheers,

Mohammad

Hi Mohammad,

We are aware that there are customers experiencing issues with Windows RT/8.1 devices connecting to their Microsoft accounts. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please continue to use your local Windows login account for the time being. You may try to reattach your Microsoft account as a connected account at a later time.

We appreciate your understanding. Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

Regards.

Mod Edit: Marking as answered to raise visibility.

(Update 10/11/17) A change was implemented on 10/10 that should resolve this issue.

This is typical of the entire RT experience, the crazy aunt in the closet microsoft managed to foist on unsuspecting customers. If the brass at Microsoft had any class at all they would send us all real tablets,

I am guessing a low end piece of junk under $100 would work just as well and probably not have the issues this piece of junk has. Poor performance, poor support, poor product. I love my RT so much, when I had to replace my desktop, I bought an Mac. If we all had any sense we would do the same.

What is going on?  This has been a problem for over two weeks now.  I tried again to link my Surface RT to my MS account and still not fixed.  Still not connecting and still giving the same error as before.

    Thx Barb for trying....

so after using my RT for a bit. Other then the signing and store issues it is working pretty good.

If you get tired of waiting, reset, don't update, and load any apps you want by signing them individually, only then update. At some point updating will stop the store from working it will tell you your connection is too slow.

But you will be able to use your RT while you wait.
