Micorosoft Surface RT won't connect to microsoft account or updat

Hi there,

I have tried to sign into my Microsoft Account to connect the Surface RT, but every time it ends up with a message : "Sorry, we couldn't connect to Microsoft services right now. If this problem persists, search for "network problems" on the Start screen"

I have checked the clock, which is one of the culprits as per the forums, but i don't see any problem with it.

I have reset the surface to see if that would reset something but same result.

I have Run the WSReset.exe to same result.

I do not know what to do, without the Microsoft login, I can not do anything through the Microsoft Store.

Cheers,

Mohammad

Hi Mohammad,

We are aware that there are customers experiencing issues with Windows RT/8.1 devices connecting to their Microsoft accounts. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please continue to use your local Windows login account for the time being. You may try to reattach your Microsoft account as a connected account at a later time.

We appreciate your understanding. Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

Regards.

Mod Edit: Marking as answered to raise visibility.

(Update 10/11/17) A change was implemented on 10/10 that should resolve this issue.

That was my experience as well, you need to get all your apps before you allow the surface to update, once it updates around 65 or so it kills the store, and further updates.

Its relatively easy to reset it, make a must have app list and then do all the apps first.

I figure if they haven't fixed it yet, going to be awhile...

Any further update on this? I also want to confirm something -- when I reset to the factory image (whether downloaded or from my backup partition), I am able to install apps from the app store using the "my login information" option (because I can't connect to my Microsoft account). However, a few days after the restore, once my machine has had a chance to receive all the updates, I'm no longer able to install apps. When I go to install I get the "please wait" flowing dots then an error that my network connection is too slow (no doubt a spurious error).

Are you or anyone aware of a workaround that would allow me to use the store? Maybe an update I could roll back then re-install after getting apps?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Been getting to my onedrive from the browser using desktop saved a shortcut had that remember the password.

Workable... I don't see that they have an urgent reason to fix this.

I used mine for 5 years, I'm happy with it.

It has been nearly 3 weeks since this problem occurred on my tablet. Is this close to being resolved yet? The tablet is about useless without the ability to connect to our Microsoft accounts.
