Be warned, they are not quick to replace these. I am pretty upset with my Support experience.
My Surface died on March 28th. Did the online support and was very easily able to set-up an RMA. Took it to FedEx the next day, and shipped it to Microsoft. It was signed for on April 1st. I have not yet received an email from Microsoft stating they
received it or what they are going to do about it and the online status reports: Product shipped by customer. From reading other posts on the forum, they usually send
a receive notice within a few days and then take up to two weeks to ship out a replacement. That is not in any policy I have seen, just in the complaints I have read on these forums.
Today is the 5th business they have had my Surface, but it is the 8th day I have been without a functional device. How they expect professionals to sit on their thumbs for 3 weeks waiting for a device repair, is beyond me. They may not have even looked
at it yet. And with two calls to tech support, the best they offered me was to call me back on Monday and see if the status has changed. Not useful at all considering they are likely looking at the same status I see online.
