Surface Pro 3 - Windows 10 - WiFi (slow or limited connectivity )

Have a Surface Pro 3 that worked fine till I updated to Win10.  Now the wireless connection seems to randomly go to a "limited connectivity" mode.  Fortunately was purchased from Costco a coupe of weeks ago so it is going back there if we can't get this figured out by Sunday.

The Surface Pro3 is a flagship device - why in the world would you subject your customers to have to resort to looking for help in forums like this?

Everyone,

Build 10586 - the November Windows 10 update - was released yesterday, and it contains a newer Marvell wireless driver 15.68.9032.47 - people are reporting that this greatly improves wireless connectivity. Please download the large update, and if you used the registry hack, reverse it as follows:

Press Windows button. Search for regedit. Open it

  1. Navigate to the following path:

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\mrvlpcie8897

  1. Find the item labeled “TXAMSDU”. Double tap and modify the value from 0 to 1
  2. Restart the machine

Then test your connectivity, and post results.

Fred,

the November Windows 10 update to build 10586 has new wireless drivers. Can you download and install the update (it should be offered via WU) and let us know if this changes your connectivity?

These kinds of issues WERE present on 8.1 for months but they mostly all cleared after several driver updates.

And that particular router is not one known to exhibit slow wifi. I'm suggesting you trade it because it is SP new and you can now get one with 10 pre-installed and not have to go through an upgrade AND because you have this issue. Getting it swapped will rule out a hardware issue and would be a step forward.

This is what *I* would do if in this situation.

For what it's worth - Microsoft needs to fix the driver and any underlying Win 10 OS issues. It took them 9 months to get a "good" Windows 8.1 wireless driver.     Hi, I'm currently using Surface Pro 3(i5/ 8GB/ 256GB). I used it for about a year

    I recently changed my SP3 due to kickstand issues. (It took me more than a month to receive a new one)

    So it's like completely new, and I almost installed nothing since before I changed the pc, it became so hot as uncomfortable to hold.

    I searched a lot of time about overheating issues of SP3, and it kinda seems that it isn't going to be fixed after all.

    Getting rid of that problem, now it's the internet.

    I don't know specifically from when, but I'm sure it's after upgrading to windows10. You can't do this to me, really. I am using this 8GB RAM thing with no P2P or some sh*ts but just surfing the internet doesn't work properly? Seriously?

    I spent THE MONEY on this. (Of course it's my parents. I'm only a teen) but still. Come on. This is crazy. I've tried many things to recover the issues but it simply won't. Help me please Microsoft you've got skills, don't you?

    Basically, I guess it's not the problem with the router

    WHAT? it can't even insert an image right now. anyways, it says (just tested with Network Speed Test application)

    Network delay: 47ms      Download speed: 44.67Mbps      Upload speed: 56.08Mbps

    I guess it isn't that slow.

    But a lot of times trying to reach the internet, it would say

    Hmm, we can't reach this page.

    Yeah, like that. And if I do refresh, it works well after few seconds.

    I mean please. Every time I turn my pc on, or even just looking at this SP3, I ucking get a headache.

    Seeing those Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book ads makes me so sad. At least if you can't give me those, help me fix this problem.

    Come on. I've already tolerated myself with changing this pc, called the center which won't help at all and waited for more than 5 weeks. You know what? Typing lags right now. It's just so slow.

    Please Help.

    Tried several of the suggestions throughout this thread in order to regain wifi speed on Surface Pro 3 Windows 10 (update version). Started running slow a few days ago (less than 1mbps). The solution in my case was to change Wifi channel to 3 (rather than 1).  Speed returned to 30mbps.
