Surface 2 Speaker/Sound Problems

Hey guys, just bought a surface 2 and Im having the same problem here, but I hear crackling noises with every app when the sound is at loud! This is very ennoying for me as I like hearing music on the tablet speakers... also i've noticed a lose volume rocker... If I knew all this issues I woudn't have bought this tablet today! Do you guys have any new information about this issue?

And a special message to Microsoft, you shouls really start to care more about your customers, Because without them you are nothing, ans I don't think you understood this really well. Companies are known and trusted because of their help support and after their reactivity to problems like this. I advice you to resolve this issue fast before all your consumers go away!

Yep I went through 4 surface tablets and experienced both the problems you mentioned and more... I would recommend returning it and waiting to see if these issues ever get fixed. And I know some guys on this thread tell you to just exchange it or wait for an update but if your tablet is messed up then just return it, don't waste ur time exchanging it 4 times like I did

If it's worth mentioning i've had Surface 2 since day one and only noticed the sound issue recently as it was fine a few days ago. I don't think is hardware related as it was ok before. Pardon the pun but 'sounds' like a driver issue to me.

I've had mine since launch and immediately noticed the tinny, bass-less sound compared to the original RT, so I don't think that's a recent driver update.  Once I found this thread and disabled the "audio enhancements" the sound quality was restored but at reduced volume, and the volume drops within the first half-second of audio playback using the built-in Music and Video apps, and MediaMonkey.  I don't notice the volume dropping with Flash content, however.

I also have the RT and I also notice a difference with my old tablet and although I'm not an sound expert I would say they will be different as the Surface 2 has Dolby sound and quality is so much better than the RT, so comparing them will definitely sound different. When you disable the enhancements I think you are changing to a standard stereo speaker which will sound like the old RT tablet. I do still believe is a driver issue as the sound is now rubbish compared to 2 weeks ago. It was a lot better and now it sounds like my kids use the tablet when having a bath and the speakers got wet. Hope they get this sorted soon. If you feel there is something wrong, I would suggest contacting customer support, they are quite good and probably will send a replacement.

Ok yes I think this is the good thing to do! I will get my money back and wait until this is fixed. Or until they send new versions of the S2 to the market. I love this tablet but I'm really disappointed by Microsoft.

Anyone notice todays update included adjustments to the sound for the Surface 2?
