Mine is showing the 4101 error quite a bit too. Judging by the time stamps on mine, I'm wondering if this is some sort of low power resume going on to grab data off the internet and as such not doing a full resume causing the display driver the crash with a warning. Mine is showing the errors pretty much when I'm not using it.
Surface 2 Speaker/Sound Problems
I just purchased two new Surface 2's and I am noticing a significant reduction in volume from the speakers compared to my old Surface RT. The speakers also lack any kind of bass. They are very "tinny" and shallow sounding. When using headphones, there is plenty of bass sound and the volume level is not an issue.
I am also experienceing a significant amount of sound crackling (from the speakers and attached headphones) when streaming video from Amazon Instant Video using both the desktop and metro versions of IE. I do not experience this crackling problem with other sound sources like Xbox music, gaming, or other website streaming video (i.e. YouTube).
Since I was experiencing this on two different Surface 2's, it seems unlikely that this is a hardware issue. This is most likely a software/driver issue. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this problem, other than wait for a possible software or firmware update?
Thanks.

2013-11-06T22:13:38+00:00 Along side this issue my system log is filled..at least 3 times a day with this display error:
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
Event:4101
Anyone else having this error?
It seems to me that the NVidia drivers for the video and sound have not been properly tested...either that or I have a hardware issue....sometimes I open halo and nothing happens....I have to end it in the task manager and then try again.
Something else I have noticed is that my surface 2 doesn't seem to like going out into the cold weather to much...it seems to lock up when trying to wake from sleep if I have just came in from the cold Canadian weather, but if I let it warm up for a few min this doesn't happen.
Despite having these issues I still am enjoying my Surface 2...nothings perfect right?
Anywho...I hope a software update is pushed out soon Microsoft and it actually fixes the issue.

2013-11-06T21:39:11+00:00 I was about to exchange it tonight. Are you guys suggesting that I should NOT exchange it ? I wouldn't want to get stuck with one that has the extra play room on the volume rocker. mine is just fine in that regards.
I personally think that in few weeks most of the software issues will be fixed. Can you wait few weeks?

2013-11-06T16:50:25+00:00 Sad thing is that MS is not responding. Maybe just a "We're looking into it" would be appreciated. In that regard, I just tweeted this url to @panos_panay. Maybe if we get enough tweets to him, things will start to roll?
