I was one of the original complainers on this glitch! I had to respond to your statement because you seem to understand my point of view? I'm an operations person not an IT guy. I'm no novice but in the middle of understanding technology. Basically I'm a business man! I quit responding after I bought a Bluetooth speaker system and it really helped the sound that I still hear numbers of folks complaining about. I went to a seminar a few years ago by a major insurance company, and they said; we are not going to focus on service no more but are new aim is new sales? They had a point because the customer you went out of your way for would drop you in a heartbeat for a better premium. Many found out that was not the best! I wonder if Microsoft is subscribing to this growth concept! It sure does seem like they are burying their heads in the sand! It did not work for my major insurance carrier!!! People expect and deserve an honest product like advertised! It's expected, just like a Big Mac with all the same ingredients, hot ready to serve! If not up to par "Then FIX it" and tell your customers that you will!!! Soon and very soon there will be another company come out with a similar product. Apple is probably working on one now? When we escaped servicing our customers they left so did out revenue! It took years before this company rebuilt their reputation. So Microsoft your future lies in today's commitments??? WHAT WILL THEY BE???? From a successful business guy! Who chooses his technology and companies!
Surface 2 Speaker/Sound Problems
I just purchased two new Surface 2's and I am noticing a significant reduction in volume from the speakers compared to my old Surface RT. The speakers also lack any kind of bass. They are very "tinny" and shallow sounding. When using headphones, there is plenty of bass sound and the volume level is not an issue.
I am also experienceing a significant amount of sound crackling (from the speakers and attached headphones) when streaming video from Amazon Instant Video using both the desktop and metro versions of IE. I do not experience this crackling problem with other sound sources like Xbox music, gaming, or other website streaming video (i.e. YouTube).
Since I was experiencing this on two different Surface 2's, it seems unlikely that this is a hardware issue. This is most likely a software/driver issue. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this problem, other than wait for a possible software or firmware update?
Thanks.

2013-11-13T02:34:02+00:00 No improvement in my Surface 2's sound after today's updates. Volume is still too low, and still sounds kind of tinny. Also, sound still stutters and crackles when I stream Amazon Instant Video through the browser. I was so excited for today's updates, but, boy what a letdown! Not sure what the audio fixes in today's updates actually did.

Brilliant job, Microsoft, just brilliant.
