Surface Pro 3 High CPU load when idle, high system cpu load

Has anyone else noticed that coming out of sleep or herniate results in unwarranted high cpu load from system interrupts?

I have all the latest firmware and updates loaded. But using sleep even sometimes a cold boot I get this issue.

How can I fix this please. Its killing my battery life.

Oh!! I just checked it again as I wanted to make a screenshot and now it's working! I don't know what changed. The only thing I did was that I originally enabled Hyper-V but when it started interfering with my WiFi connectivity I disabled it again, so maybe that's what was necessary.. I used to have constant high "System Interrupts" process running, but disabling one by one I found out that an Adobe startup process was causing it, so I disabled it and it seems to have fixed the issue. Either way, thanks for your responses!

Dear Clare,

No, this is not what I was asking. Please refer to the original question.

Perhaps you may have something running in the background.

I'm having this exact same issue with my brand new i7 256GB SP3. Battery drained while suspended overnight. The powercfg batteryreport shows this. Kinda frustrating...

I'll try disabling wifi this time.

I've had my sp3 for a month now. Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed what I feel is unusual behavior.

Mostly, the fan spinning up to full speed by simply watching a YouTube video at 1080p. Other times when only browsing websites but no videos running.

When I check the task manager to see what's using up CPU I often see task manager itself using 30% (for who knows what) and antimalware service executable also around 30%. Okay sure the occasional virus scan, that makes sense. But then when I view the performance tab CPU might be 100% but the graph doesn't work. Similarly, if I switch to memory or disk, the graphs for those resources don't change.

This is my first SP. I did have an original RT and don't ever recall any excessive CPU heat issues when watching YouTube Netflix Hulu etc. The SP3 on the other hand, is obviously pretty hot when the fat starts going full speed.

    What do you think.

The only desktop programs I have installed are Office 365, a couple of steam games, and trillian IM. But none besides Office run in the background (office click to run).

As I type this, the fan is off and the CPU is relatively cool, but task manager/CPU performance says it's at 100% but no graph is actually animated, nor are any of the other metrics, speed threads etc. even when I change to memory or disk as mentioned before.

If I reboot and do nothing but check task manager, I see basically the same thing.
