If you'd take your time to read through this topic you'd know, that people (including me) had their devices and their pens replaced multiple times and the issue still persists. Re-installing Windows and installing all the updates is one of the first troubleshooting steps that people have done. So I'd appreciate if you'd stop posting "solutions" like this, as they don't have anything to do with solving the issue.
Surface Pro 4 Pen needs to be re-bluetooth paired after waking up/turning on surface
Hello,
My surface pro 4 pen needs to be re-paired via bluetooth after the computer has been sleeping/hibernating in order for the eraser button to function when clicked. It still shows up as a connected device in the bluetooth settings, and still writes properly even when the eraser button does not work. After removing the pen from the list of connected devices and re-pairing, everything seems to work properly but this is obviously inconvenient. Thanks for any help you can offer!

2017-03-24T04:09:50+00:00 If u had read my followup reply instead of shooting your virtual mouth off u would have realized that my reply contains your only alternatives and that your reply shows just how ignorant you are. Your units are defective and only a replacement from Microsoft has any chance of fixing the problem. I don't need to waste my time reading all the post in this thread to come to that obvious conclusion. There are plenty of sp4s out there that don't have your issue.

2017-03-24T07:31:53+00:00 Please don't even bother starting ad personam arguments. Your reply contains exactly what Microsoft suggests when encountering any issues that make the suggest "oh it's not us, it's your or your single device, it'a not a widespread problem". And replacement didn't fix it at all. Event log suggests it'a a system/driver problem, not a hardware one, so please, stop.

2017-03-24T17:30:06+00:00 You seem to be your own worst enemy. Your attitude will get you nowhere, either on this forum or with Microsoft. The rest of my comment is directed to the more reasonable posters on this thread.
It is highly unlikely that Microsoft will provide a fix specific to this problem since most sp4 owners at least in the US are not experiencing this issue, IMO. Unless Microsoft can reproduce this problem or someone supplies them with an sp4 with the problem no fix will be forthcoming leaving only 3 choices; live with it until and if by some miracle it is fixed, take legal action, or keep replacing the unit under warranty until u get a good one. IMO the 3rd choice is the best. Microsoft has sold probably a million+ sp4s so 20 or 30 complains on this forum is statistically hardly significant. Remember that each time you get a replacement your warranty gets pushed out another 90 days minimum. If you live in the US use that advantage and go to a Microsoft retail store and let them replace your sp4 and don't leave the store until you fully checkout the replacement. Try and convince them to give you a new unit especially if you have already received a bad replacement. The people at the retail stores are generally much more helpful and cooperative then Microsoft online or phone support. Whatever you do don't cop an attitude like yasiekk as it will only hurt your case. Good luck. I will no longer be monitoring this thread.

2017-03-24T19:19:05+00:00 The thing is that Microsoft has already been given diagnostic data from people who can reproduce this problems - event logs containing errors which are specific enough to pinpoint the cause of the issue (and I'm speaking this as a programmer and a Windows professional) and either admit it's a general hardware fault or a driver/software bug. People have already been given new units and it didn't help at all - the issue is still there. And as far as number of complaints go not everyone sees this as a major problem, so they don't report it. Even if they do it's probably not on a forum, but a support channel. Which of course I have done myself too, but it didn't help. Hence the attitude. I hate to be a "can I speak to your manager" type of guy, but I know from my experience that with Microsoft sometimes it's the only way to actually move things forward, as they tend to neglect issues that are not super major.
And unfortunately having no Microsoft retail stores nearby in Europe doesn't help either - every replacement is basically is minimum a week without the device that I use for work daily - it's shipped from Netherlands.
