Surface Pro 4 Pen needs to be re-bluetooth paired after waking up/turning on surface

Hello,

My surface pro 4 pen needs to be re-paired via bluetooth after the computer has been sleeping/hibernating in order for the eraser button to function when clicked.  It still shows up as a connected device in the bluetooth settings, and still writes properly even when the eraser button does not work.  After removing the pen from the list of connected devices and re-pairing, everything seems to work properly but this is obviously inconvenient. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Take this reply with a pinch of salt.

At the moment (and for the test I made), I found a solution launching the (Control Panel) -> Troubleshoot -> (under Find and Fix other problems) -> Hardware and Devices.

Windows has found some problems and has fixed it.

From that moment on, the pen has not given me any more trouble and it seems to work even after long standby times, and even if I turn off and on again the bluetooth voluntarily.

The creators update did NOT fix bluetooth connection problems with my pen reconnecting after sleep..  Did it work for anyone else?

    Hello Peter,

Were you able to update your Surface manually? If not yet, you can go to the Windows Software Download site and click on the Update now button. This should update to our most recent Windows 10 Creators Update version.

    For proper steps, here's how:

    1. Go to the Windows Software Download site.
    2. Choose Update now at the top of the page.
    3. Accept the License Terms.
    4. After a compatibility check, the Update Assistant will proceed with the update to Windows 10 Creators Update.

Should you need further question/s, feel free to contact us.

    Regards.
