If u had read my followup reply instead of shooting your virtual mouth off u would have realized that my reply contains your only alternatives and that your reply shows just how ignorant you are. Your units are defective and only a replacement from Microsoft has any chance of fixing the problem. I don't need to waste my time reading all the post in this thread to come to that obvious conclusion. There are plenty of sp4s out there that don't have your issue.
Surface Pro 4 Pen needs to be re-bluetooth paired after waking up/turning on surface
Hello,
My surface pro 4 pen needs to be re-paired via bluetooth after the computer has been sleeping/hibernating in order for the eraser button to function when clicked. It still shows up as a connected device in the bluetooth settings, and still writes properly even when the eraser button does not work. After removing the pen from the list of connected devices and re-pairing, everything seems to work properly but this is obviously inconvenient. Thanks for any help you can offer!

2017-03-24T00:53:57+00:00 If you'd take your time to read through this topic you'd know, that people (including me) had their devices and their pens replaced multiple times and the issue still persists. Re-installing Windows and installing all the updates is one of the first troubleshooting steps that people have done. So I'd appreciate if you'd stop posting "solutions" like this, as they don't have anything to do with solving the issue.

2017-03-23T22:16:23+00:00 Since my sp4 as well 4 other sp4s I support do not have the problem I must conclude that either u are indeed very unlucky or Microsoft is exchanging warranteed sp4s with returned sp4s with other peoples issues. I strongly suspect it is the latter reason since Microsoft doesn't repair sp4s. If u live in the US u can go to a Microsoft retail store and swap out your sp4 and checkout the replacement before u leave. If u don't live in the US u are sadly SOL.

2017-03-23T21:44:34+00:00 I've had the pen replaced. I've had the surface replaced. It's either a Windows problem or I am getting extremely unlucky and so is everybody else on here with their hardware and in that case it's still Microsoft's problem. The communication has all but ceased from Microsoft surrounding this issue and it's ridiculous at this point that my nearly $2000 device doesn't work as advertised, and I can't get Microsoft to even pretend that they care.

2017-03-23T21:05:23+00:00 I'm afraid the Surface Support team was contacted multiple times and while they acknowledged the issue, they did not come back with any solution. Can you please contact the technical team responsible for this and ask for an update? It's unacceptable that **your engineers can't fix a problem that was reported in October - that is 5 months ago!**We, as your clients, need to know if it's a hardware issue that can't be fixed, so we can ask you to give our money back, or will you finally do something about it.
Here' s a solution. Download the recovery image from Microsoft and do a full reset. Do all the updates. If the problem still exists then it's a hardware problem. Either your pen or your sp4 is faulty and should be replaced under warranty
