I have reset my Surface RT before. Being an IT professional, I have installed Windows 7/8/10 multiple times. Just reset my Surface RT to default settings. I am trying to set it up for my daughter. She has a hotmail account already (uses it on our other computers). When I try to sign her in when setting up Windows after the hard reset I get an error that it can't connect to Microsoft Services and i should check my network settings. I created a local account thinking it must be something during setup. I tried again via the Store app and I receive the same error. I have an internet connection so.... That's not the problem. It is clearly something on Microsoft's end. Creating a new account isn't an option as she is using her current account on our home PC and needs to utilize OneDrive. Is there an image that has Surface RT Update 3?

Uh-oh, I am another proud owner of not-very-useful Surface 2. Gee I hope we get some action on this problem soon.
I did the factory reset procedure, and when I try to log into my Microsoft account, it says not available at the moment, and to check network connection if the problem persists; however I am connected to the internet and I can log into my account through explorer on the same device. Right now I'm using a local account, and whenever I try to sign in, the same window pops up. I have checked that the location, time and date are correct. I have tried resetting it again, still does not work.
Besides, when looking for updates, Windows update gets stuck on looking for updates, with no ending. It's being like that for days
My Surface RT used to work fine, except for some updates it didn't install
I've tried all solutions like DSIM.exe scannow.exe, resetting the surface three times now.
my Surface rt is basically uselss. urgent help is needed!
this is a Microsoft problem. they know about it. There's just no information on
when it will be resolved. Or even IF.

Well, hope someone at Microsoft comes with a solution, or maybe it'll be another disappointment with MS stuff.
The Surface RT is nothing but an expensive paperweight without a Microsoft account.
