Can't login to Microsoft Account/Reset Surface RT and can't sign in to Microsoft account/Can't connect to Microsoft Services

I have reset my Surface RT before. Being an IT professional, I have installed Windows 7/8/10 multiple times. Just reset my Surface RT to default settings. I am trying to set it up for my daughter. She has a hotmail account already (uses it on our other computers). When I try to sign her in when setting up Windows after the hard reset I get an error that it can't connect to Microsoft Services and i should check my network settings. I created a local account thinking it must be something during setup. I tried again via the Store app and I receive the same error. I have an internet connection so.... That's not the problem. It is clearly something on Microsoft's end. Creating a new account isn't an option as she is using her current account on our home PC and needs to utilize OneDrive. Is there an image that has Surface RT Update 3?

    Hi Jim,

Let's look into this Microsoft account concern you're experiencing. Are you getting any error messages when you try to log in? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Are you logging in to the Microsoft Store app or online? Tell us more, we'll be glad to assist.

    Thanks Svend,

I have/had 3RT's, one for my undergrad student son and all 3 have either had this issue or have simply refused to restart since the latest update. I love my Surface and have MS products by choice (and my Nokia 930 is far the best phone I have ever owned) but recent software bugs and glitches are taking their toll and I balk at the thought of being 'forced' into buying a 'New' Surface for £700 and having to shell out another £130+ for the keyboard if it too will end up being bricked after a few years.

Come on Microsoft - you have a committed follower who is having to use their aged iPad because it actually still works while the better machine lies dormant due to problems with your software updates - not encouraging :(

Every time I try and connect to my Microsoft account through my surface to download anything in the app store it comes up with this message "sorry we can't connect to Microsoft services at the moment". I have not had this problem with this device before only in the past few weeks. I have reset my device to factory settings and I am still having the same issue. I have also had this issue on another windows 8 inch tablet. Is there a way of fixing this issue?

    Thanks

    Hi Marby,

it is not only important, but it is CRUCIAL to connect the Surface RT to our Microsoft accounts. Otherwise, after the full reset we are unable to access any app from the store nor OneDrive. Hence, the Surface is practically useless.

When will Microsoft solve this issue?

    Thank you

    Thanks Barb,

A fix by the end of October is really, really away. Hope Microsoft takes this seriously and assign the resources needed to fix this issue affecting many users worldwide ASAP.

    Regards,
