my control key is broken

    Hi, is there anybody happen to this issue? My control key is broken after 10 months. I am a developer, I seldom use mouse, I often use the keyboard, like ctrl+arrow, ctrl+tab, ctrl+F4, ctrl+W, ctrl+alt+L, ctrl+shift+E, and so on. It's about more then 500 times I click the control key each day.

    China ms has changed a new keyboard for me last year, and the control key is broken again after 10 months. And the refuse change it again for me.

That's np, the real problem is even they change a new one for me, the control key will be broken again after 10 months.

    I guess the keyboard material is not good enough for me to click it more then 500 times each day.

    Surface book is really a good product, I really hope it will be perfect, I like surface book II, too.

    Can confirm that the Tab and Ctrl keys can be swapped, which will fix it for a while.

    Unfortunately, doesn't look like there are any others on the keyboard of the same size

    Same problem here, ctrl key cracked across vertically and it's making the keyboard unusable.

    I only press it with my little finger. I didn't realise I was so strong!

    Somebody suggested online swapping it with the tab key, which should be the same size.

    Because spaces... not tabs

    I've had the same problem on two SurfaceBooks now. I'm also a developer, so probably use the key more that a 'standard' user. Whats most annoying is that the crack (whilst unsightly - actually means that half the key doesn't work meaning I have a significant miss rate when trying to ctrl-something)

    Microsoft's support was appalling. With their only suggestion being 'Buy a new laptop'. These additional reports show that this is a more common defect. I'm going to pick it up with them again.

    I have exactly the same problem - CTRL key is broken. 

    Very little use - Just out of warrantee 

    Microsoft not interested - Suggest I buy replacement complete machine.

    If it comes to buying a new laptop it wouldnt be one that is only going to last a year.
