Surface Dock 2 Display Problem

I can CONFIRM that buying the Microsoft Surface USB-C to HDMI Adapter (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/surface-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter/94chb2m80s54?SilentAuth=1&activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab&atc=true&wa=wsignin1.0) fixed the issue for the HP 23es that would not properly connect to the Surface Dock 2 using a Uni USB-C to HDMI cable (https://uniaccessories.io/products/usb-c-to-hdmi-cable-3ft-6ft-10ft) which is the exact same cable that my 27 inch Sceptre Curved monitor is using with the same dock and no issues. 

I can use the same cable to plug the HP 23es directly into my Surface Book 3 and it will connect perfectly. However the Surface Dock 2 seems to have an issue with "older" monitors (the HP 23es came out in 2016) so it only seems to want the adapter. 

As much as I love Surface products I am pretty disappointed right now. I should not have to buy a $50 adapter to make my $200 dock work when there are already cables that serve the same purpose as this adapter.

Having the exact same problem as Swiss Julian here in England.  Surface Dock 2 with Surface Laptop 3 -- attempting to link via the correct USBC portal to a Samsung S24F350FHU Full HD LED Monitor 24 inch.  Did the software update for the dock and it worked for about 1 minute after computer re-start and then continued to have the same issue.  Had hoped to eventually upgrade to 2 monitors -- and have other various needs for a dock -- and am very disappointed (read: British for livid) that I've paid this much money for a dock that does not function in the basic way it was intended.  Am hoping to be notified immediately of any fixes by Microsoft.

i had also problems connect my external monitor via dock 2 to surface book 2. I used also the original Microsoft USB-C to DP Adapter. Always hear bing bing with connect/disconnect. What helps are the adapters for my iMac. Therefore i had a ICY Box USB-C to mini DP Adapter and a mini DP to DP cable. When i use this no problems occur, also no problems to recognize the adapter. It works with 120 Hz refresh rate on a Dell S3220 DGF... i know one adapter after another and cables...

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2 for my home office. I try connecting it with my Surface Pro 7 and a Samsung C34J791 (LC34J791WTUXEN) monitor with the supplies USB-C cable from Samsung which came with the monitor.

Windows is recognising the monitor fine, it shows up in the screen settings.

But the display is not showing any images, it just keeps switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

If I now connect the display to the Surface Pro 7 directly with the same cable it works just fine and I can see the desktop on the Samsung monitor.

What do you suggest?

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2.

I tried connecting Surface Dock 2 with my Surface Pro 5^th^ Gen M1796 and two HP EliteDisplay E243i monitors (Model: 1FH49AA) with the Chotech USB-C to HDMI cable (4K @60Hz). I am using the rear USB-C ports of Surface Dock 2 for connection with monitors.

Windows is recognising the monitors fine, it shows up in the screen settings. I am using Extended Display.

But the display is not showing any images, it just kept switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

I have downloaded and installed the Surface Tool as well with no luck.

I called Microsoft yesterday and today. Microsoft will put me on hold for an hour or so and then suddenly the call gets disconnected.

Somebody please help me. I will be grateful.
