Surface Dock 2 Display Problem

Dear Microsoft-Team,

Dear Community,

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2 for my home office. I try connecting it with my Surface Pro 7 and a Samsung C34J791 (LC34J791WTUXEN) monitor with the supplies USB-C cable from Samsung which came with the monitor.

Windows is recognising the monitor fine, it shows up in the screen settings.

But the display is not showing any images, it just keeps switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

If I now connect the display to the Surface Pro 7 directly with the same cable it works just fine and I can see the desktop on the Samsung monitor.

What do you suggest?

    Hello,

    I'm experiencing the same problem reported by Swiss Julian; same configuration (Surface Dock2, Surface pro 7) but with a DELLU2715H monitor.

    The USB-C/HDMI connection works if connected directly on my surface pro 7, but no signal when connected to the Surface Dock2.

    I hope that the appropriate team at Microsoft are working to fix this issue and I want to remark that we aren't talking about a secondary problem that occurs for a particular configuration or mode of use. We are talking about making two of the newest Microsoft devices work.

    I want to point out also that Swiss Julian had spent a lot of his time and without receiving real support. Alone he found a solution that is not practicable in any case as it requires an additional expense (double in the case of two monitors).

    Read point 2. I think their issue is the same for a lot of Surface Dock 2 customers.

    The problem described in reddit's post is different from what I'm experiencing with my new surface dock 2.

     I am still using my surface dock 2 as a simple power supply since I had purchased it to connect an external monitor and it has not been possible yet.

    In the meantime I tried to connect other monitors and other USB-C/HDMI cables but without success. Still waiting for an update that could solve the problem!

    I'm just jumping on the bandwagon.

    Same issue. Just bought a Surface Dock 2 on the belief that I could connect by SP6 to an external monitor via the USB-C port.

    Fails to work - detects the monitor and its speaks but no picture or sound.

    Works fine with a USB-C to HDMI connection however I wanted the other benefits of USB-C.

    I've spent hours with Microsoft support which no success.

    I recently purchased a Surface Book 3 and Surface Dock 2. Dock 2 not working worth a pinch. As I have in the past I work with the laptop monitor and 2 extended HP 27xw monitors. I had our corporation IT guys attempt to make it work to avail. I have returned the Surface Dock 2. 

    A few years ago I purchased a SB2 and dock. After I returned the Dock 2 I hooked up my old Dock to the new SB3 works great. Sure would like to know what was wrong with the Dock 2 before I consider purchasing another one
