Surface Dock 2 Display Problem

Dear Microsoft-Team,

Dear Community,

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2 for my home office. I try connecting it with my Surface Pro 7 and a Samsung C34J791 (LC34J791WTUXEN) monitor with the supplies USB-C cable from Samsung which came with the monitor.

Windows is recognising the monitor fine, it shows up in the screen settings.

But the display is not showing any images, it just keeps switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

If I now connect the display to the Surface Pro 7 directly with the same cable it works just fine and I can see the desktop on the Samsung monitor.

What do you suggest?

    Uwe, thanks so much for your solution! I will give it a try today :)

    Just one thing: would you mind explaining the process to make sure the old drive doesn't make back? Do I need to uninstall the Microsoft driver, or just installing the Intel one + enabling the "predictive driver" option is enough? And what is that "predictive driver" setting and how can you enable out?

    Oh, and BTW, did you have any issues since switching to the latest Intel version of the driver?

    Have you tried the solution proposed by Uwe Bockstette, installing the laste Intel Graphics drivers??

    I haven't been able to try it yet, but looks like it might solve the problem...

    In that case, the solution from Microsoft should be updating the version of the OEM driver they have in Windows Update and no HDMI to USB C adaptar should be necessary...

    It would also be interesting to know if the adapter workaround just works with the Microsoft version of the adaptar or with any adapter from any brand.

    I went and purchased the MS HDMI / USB C adapter and guess what, the MS Dock now works.  But there is no way this should be like this...

    Buy an adapter to get your dock to work.   Lame.

    Same issue with Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Dock 2.
