Surface Dock 2 Display Problem

Dear Microsoft-Team,

Dear Community,

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2 for my home office. I try connecting it with my Surface Pro 7 and a Samsung C34J791 (LC34J791WTUXEN) monitor with the supplies USB-C cable from Samsung which came with the monitor.

Windows is recognising the monitor fine, it shows up in the screen settings.

But the display is not showing any images, it just keeps switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

If I now connect the display to the Surface Pro 7 directly with the same cable it works just fine and I can see the desktop on the Samsung monitor.

What do you suggest?

    I had the same problem for months and after several attempts at different cables the right cable was found (for me)

    I used Surface Book 3

    2 displys: Dell U2412M

    UPDATE 02/23/2021: I recently took a new display, connecting with USB-C directly to the Surface Dock 2 and working like a charm. It is the LG 43BN70U-B with 4K@60Hz. Even HDR mode is working perfectly.

    So it is time to move on, take the correct display and everything is working. It is really annoying me, that Microsoft left me alone and stated my old Samsung display was compatible, but it was not, definitely.

    UPDATE: we were able to "work around" the issue as we discovered that Viewsonic and LG monitors at our facility work just fine - our other monitors were all Samsung. Not sure what's going on with that but i'm still convinced its something with the dock as every monitor works perfectly when directly connected to the Surface Go 2.

    A class-action lawsuit should fix the problem. If a company as big as Microsoft cannot manufacture a good product, then they should price it at a much, much lower price or fix the god-forsaken thing.

    I got tired of troubleshooting this dock every morning I come to work.

    This problem has gone beyond ridiculous with its issues.

    I am just thinking of buying Dell XPS and their dock and live my life without hassle.

    I can confirm this issue is still happening. We just ordered dozens of Surface Go 2 tablets and Surface Dock 2's to go with them. All of them exhibit the same issues with displays connected using USB-C to HDMI cables or adapters. All. Of. Them. all cables and adapters work fine when connected directly to the tablet. When connected to the dock sometimes the image will show but as soon as the tablet goes to sleep they will stop receiving the signal even though windows shows the monitors as connected. This is VERY CLEARLY an issue with the surface dock 2 and microsoft should fix it or issue a recall to customers who spent LOTS of money on these non-functional docking stations.
