Surface Dock 2 Display Problem

Dear Microsoft-Team,

Dear Community,

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2 for my home office. I try connecting it with my Surface Pro 7 and a Samsung C34J791 (LC34J791WTUXEN) monitor with the supplies USB-C cable from Samsung which came with the monitor.

Windows is recognising the monitor fine, it shows up in the screen settings.

But the display is not showing any images, it just keeps switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

If I now connect the display to the Surface Pro 7 directly with the same cable it works just fine and I can see the desktop on the Samsung monitor.

What do you suggest?

Thanks a lot in advance for your kind assistance and have a great weekend!

Best regards,

Julian

    Hello everyone !

I also have the same problem with a 34 '' Samsung S34J55X screen and the new surface dock 2.

I updated the dock2 drivers but it doesn't change anything.

My screen works well when I plug it directly into my ebook2 surface (with HDMI / USB-C adapter).

I hesitate to buy the microsoft HDMI / USB-C adapter because the price is high and I'm afraid it won't change anything.

I'm very disappointed with this purchase. I'm thinking of going back to dock1 and trying to get a refund..

I handle the deployment of machines to our end users at our company. I have seen this issue twice out of 4 deployments of the Surface Dock 2. The most recent deployment, completed the correct Firmware Update and the issue was resolved for over a week. Then it came back. I will continue to follow this thread in hopes that someone will update with an additional firmware update is available.

    Thanks!

I recently purchased a Surface Book 3 and Surface Dock 2. Dock 2 not working worth a pinch. As I have in the past I work with the laptop monitor and 2 extended HP 27xw monitors. I had our corporation IT guys attempt to make it work to avail. I have returned the Surface Dock 2.

A few years ago I purchased a SB2 and dock. After I returned the Dock 2 I hooked up my old Dock to the new SB3 works great. Sure would like to know what was wrong with the Dock 2 before I consider purchasing another one
