Surface Dock 2 Display Problem

Dear Microsoft-Team,

Dear Community,

I recently got the brand-new Surface Dock 2 for my home office. I try connecting it with my Surface Pro 7 and a Samsung C34J791 (LC34J791WTUXEN) monitor with the supplies USB-C cable from Samsung which came with the monitor.

Windows is recognising the monitor fine, it shows up in the screen settings.

But the display is not showing any images, it just keeps switching through the inputs to find a proper signal and after some time the monitor goes into sleep mode as it could not find a signal.

If I now connect the display to the Surface Pro 7 directly with the same cable it works just fine and I can see the desktop on the Samsung monitor.

What do you suggest?

    Well have this very same problem.

    Doc 2 USB-C to HDMI picture comes to HP Pavilion 23xv - occasionally. Plug the cable in plug it out and if I am lucky I see the picture.

    My hw is Surface 7 pro I7, if I connect the cable to the surface I can see the picture.

    Now I am planning to upgrade to Samsung LC34H890WG, that has a USB-C.

    This should work - or? Dont fancy buying an expensive screen that does not work with doc2 and 7Pro.

    Any guidance is welcomed.

    Lucky. Didn't work for me.

    USB-C cable from Surface Laptop 3 to external monitor still doesn't show display, despite installing latest Intel display drivers and installing (though no way to confirm??) the latest Surface Dock 2 SEMM software.

    The external screen has a built in soundbar and webcam - both are recognised, simply the display doesn't want to load. Plugging it directly into the laptop works!

    The dock simply doesn't want to let my screen breathe.

    Very questionable hardware for £250. I'm hoping Microsoft can sort this out because this is pretty unacceptable.

    I downloaded and installed the drivers below on the Surface Pro 7 plus and updated the Surface Dock 2 firmware and got dual monitors working.

    I have 2 old dell monitors and used a usb c to dvi cable for both of them.

    This is perfect. So that's how they do it. My SurfaceBokk says the same error messages and that it is only for the Surface Go and 'I should install it on a Surface Go. Nice! Good trick.

    UPDATE 02/23/2021: I recently took a new display, connecting with USB-C directly to the Surface Dock 2 and working like a charm. It is the LG 43BN70U-B with 4K@60Hz. Even HDR mode is working perfectly.

    So it is time to move on, take the correct display and everything is working. It is really annoying me, that Microsoft left me alone and stated my old Samsung display was compatible, but it was not, definitely.
