When I connect an external display while the Surface is already turned on, the external display is flickering. When I restart the Surface with the external monitor already attached everything works fine. Disconnecting the Surface then and reconnecting
- same problem. The flickering appears with different monitors, different cables and with different connectors (Surface Dock or USB-C). I have the 16 GB, i7 Version of the Surface 7 with an up to date OS.

2020-05-24T00:14:26+00:00 I was tipped off on another discussion thread that a Windows Insider Update has a bunch of Surface Pro and X firmware updates. Sure enough, there is. Am downloading it now and will see if it fixes the issue.
Kim, out of curiosity did you get any installation errors when trying to install these Insider updates? We keep getting this message, even after multiple reboots/attempts: "your pc isn't supported yet on this version of windows 10"

So do I , but i've noticed they are only happening when resuming from sleep, startup or connecting the dock. There's only half dozen entries then it stops, i'm assuming this is the HDMI synchronisation process that was failing previously.

No - no errors here.
I'm running the Insider update again this morning on another SP7, firstly running the updates that cause it to fail, then the insider to fix it all.

Can you try testing this by disconnecting the dock and any external monitor
plugged directly into your SP7? Once you do that, do you still have these
errors?
