Agreed, the only thing that completely fixed my issue was to: Replace the SurfaceBook.
I can't waste any more time trying to fix Microsofts nightmare.

Hi
I just bought a Surface Book 2 and a surface dock.
The dock is connected to 2 monitors and USB keyboard (Razer Huntsman Elite) and mouse Razer Hyperflux Mamba/Firefly.
Both keep disconnecting/reconnecting randomly. Mostly when running games, but sometimes also when running office application.
I have reinstalled the Surface Dock Firmware updater but it doesn't help.
I have done the latest updates, but it doesn't help either.
I cannot find much info in the event viewer, but SurfaceDockFwUpdate errors (event ID 2005 2006 and 2007).
Any ideas where this could come from?
This is becoming ridiculous, it sometimes disconnects every 5-10 sec.

Great idea, wish it helped. I've done tried this out but the Surface Dock (version 1) speakers (when looking at Device Manager) and audio devices (when looking at Manage Audio Devices) continue disappearing / reappearing. Currently about every 30 - 60 seconds. Reboots help for awhile, but this behaviour continues to reoccur. It's worse after coming out of standby.
Time for a replacement Surface Dock.

I solved my surface dock2 mouse disconnection problem. For me, it has something to do with my power supply: I plugged my surface dock2 into a power strip, which only provides 250w power while I also plugged in other equipments on that. Solved by plug my surface dock2 directly into a wall plug
