Surface Dock keeps disconnecting/reconnecting USB devices with Surface Book 2

Hi 

I just bought a Surface Book 2 and a surface dock.

The dock is connected to 2 monitors and USB keyboard (Razer Huntsman Elite) and mouse Razer Hyperflux Mamba/Firefly.

Both keep disconnecting/reconnecting randomly. Mostly when running games, but sometimes also when running office application.

I have reinstalled the Surface Dock Firmware updater but it doesn't help.

I have done the latest updates, but it doesn't help either.

I cannot find much info in the event viewer, but SurfaceDockFwUpdate errors (event ID 2005 2006 and 2007).

Any ideas where this could come from?

This is becoming ridiculous, it sometimes disconnects every 5-10 sec.

    I am intrigued some people believe it could be the dock itself.  I have a SB1, SB2, and SB3, Two dock v1, and a dock 2. The issue happens only with the SB3, and with all docks. Swap in SB2 or SB1, they have never had any issues with any docks.

    Beyond this,  a work colleage has an SB2 and SB3 and Dock v1 and dock 2. He never had any troubles with any of that till this week. Suddenly, no monitprs on the docks, and no usb on the docks. Laptop usb is ok.

    The connector could be a possible cause. Maybe the connector just does not connect correctly. The manufacturing issue could be sometimes on the plug side and sometimes on the socket end.  That would explain some resolving it with new dock, and some with new (or older) SB.

    My keyboard and mouse are both wired so unfortunately that won't help me. Hopefully it will help others. But my guts tell me that the culprit is the dock itself. Especially since dock 2 seems to solve the problem.

    My reply on that post might be useful for some of you as I fixed my issue with Surface Dock 1 / 2 which only have USB 3.0 on it:

    It's related to the USB 3.0 interference and USB wireless dongle.

    I guess it's the main reason all keyboard / mouse (especially using wireless 2.4Ghz) are using USB 2.0 instead of 3.0

    Just thought I would add my experience. In my case, it is definitely the Surface Book 3, not the dock.

    I have the USB disconnect issues intermittently on the SB3, using two Dock v1, and one Dock v2. But I never have USB disconnect with SB2 on same three docks.

    I have two external monitors, and they work fine with the SB2 with both dock v1, and Dock v2. The two monitors always work with the SB3 if I plug the dock into the bottom of the SB3 when it is disconnected from the base (tablet mode), or if the SB3 is connected to the keyboard base in laptop orientation where you can use keyboard and look at screen. But, if I dock the screen reversed, keyboard behind, then only one of my external monitors will work. The other monitor very occasionally will work in this mode, if I keep disconnecting and reconnecting enough times, but will then be disconnected the next morning.

    I bought my SB2 last year for $3k. Unless Microsoft is replacing it with an SB3 for free, I would never go back to MS laptops. 

    Indeed what you're proposing is not a solution. And sounds like a MS speech. Won't work for me. 

    This issue is also happening on surface pro device, so you're suggestion is to replace a $1000 device with a $3000 one. That won't fly for me.
