Surface Headphones call quality degrades after 30 minutes on Teams

After about 30 minutes on a Teams call, participants report that my voice is distorted and sounds a bit like I'm speaking through water. I can't hear the distortion myself, but this is happening consistently on calls. The sound quality from my end is the same. 

On a similar note - what setting do you recommend to hear yourself best as you are on a call? Full ambient noise pass through? I don't like listening to myself sounding like I'm muffled by the headphones. I wish the mic passed the sound through to the headphones somehow.
