Surface pro 3 Brightness control missing

Again the same old issue. After the last windows update (version 1903 build 18362. 239) i cant adjust the screen brightness ( is set in 100% and it is draining the battery).

This is the second time an Windows actualization creates this issue.

Does anyone have a clue how to fix it this time?

It is not a permanent solution.

I solved the issue by resetting surface through the Recovery section choosing to keep personal files. Without creating any usb recovery key.

The procedure took 25 mins, with several reboots, I didn't have to do anything.

After the login, everything back to normal. My diagnosis is that the windows update process to 1903, while updating drivers/firmware/etc. created the issue.

The only thing I can suggest is to file a problem report using the Feedback Hub

App. And upvote existing reports. I searched for "brightness control missing

surface pro" and got a bunch of hits. it isn't just Surface..
