The only way to fix this issue is replacing tje slim pen? I had the same problem. I have a surface pro 7 I7 and it freeze the touch options when i use the slim pen.

I just recently purchased the Surface Pro 7 and Slim pen. I am on the third one as I have returned them and gotten a new one due to the touch screen not working. It works fine for a little while then in the middle of editing pictures or using the slim pen the touch screen and pen both stop working. I have done all of the suggested tips (Uninstalling drivers, reinstalling them, etc) and after restarting the Surface Pro 7 they work for awhile and then I'm back to having to restart to get them to work again. I am assuming now it is something with the surface slim pen interfering with the touch screen since I have been through three Pro 7s and not all of them can be messed up. Is there a way to fix this permanently without having to constantly restart my device?
I am a professional photographer and this is seriously messing with my work flow. I can not keep restarting my device every 15 to 30 minutes to get the screen and pen working again. My next step is to return both items and switch completely away from the Surfaces. I don't want to as I have had my Surface Pro 3 for years and love it but it crashed and I had to upgrade. Can anyone tell me what to try to get this issue corrected?

I have the driver pack still in my download folder (it's title GDI for some reason) i think you can download a driver pack from MS with all the latest drivers in there.

2021-04-15T09:42:40+00:00 Maybe I'm just being dumb, but I can't figure out how to update the drivers individually. Opening device manager shows that the driver was indeed rolled back to the 2019 version with this newest update somehow. Updating the driver from the device manage just tells me its already up to date (which its not), attempting to manually update it using the file from the Windows Update Catelog isn't working, and reinstalling the entire update still leaves me with the 2019 version.
