i thought about buying the Surface RT as a replacement for my netbook which i use as a travelling buddy. i hardly use my netbook, and use it only for travelling when i am in the hotel, like when i am on holiday max 3 to 4 times a year. most hotels i stay
in don't have wifi. they have the internet cable in the room. otherwise at home i have a pretty powerful laptop and super fast internet through ethernet. so i'm not going to use it at home.
so now i worked out from this format that a USB-to-Ethernet adapters doesn't work on the Surface RT i'm not going to buy one. it's useless to me.
i understand microsoft from this forumn that has purposely disabled any chance of a USB-to Ethernet adapter working on the Surface RT.
the price of a Surface PRO (which i understand does have capability to connect to internet via USB-to-EThernet) is equivalent to a pretty good small ASUS laptop. i think i will buy the ASUS instead.
microsoft have shot themselves in the foot. such a nice device, but so little connectivity options.
