Mouse freeze on surface book 2 after the most recent firmware UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 update!!! especially when power adapter plugged in

Thanks for getting back to us. The downgrading/uninstalling of UEFI to the previous version is not applicable via Windows Update settings and in UEFI settings as well. There are solutions for this are: resetting, using a recovery image or using an installation media. Can you tell us if you perform a clean install using Windows 10 installation media (via .ISO file) as well? If you haven't, you can proceed here.

Another way is to manually install updates and create a System Restore point (this includes reverting back to the previous firmware update/s).

I am not talking about the driver of UEFI inside the windows system. I am talking about the version of the firmware of the UEFI, i.e. BIOS firmware if using the old fashion name.

Microsoft need to provide a tool for flash the UEFI firmware to the previous version asap as the 389 version almost killed my device!

In Regards to this issue. Both myself and my business partner have a 15" Surface Book 2. We own an IT business of 35 staff. One of the laptops had upgraded to the new firmware and immediately started having these issues, lots of trouble shooting was done and at the very end we decided to upgrade the firmware on the second Surface Book 2. 20 minutes into the first restart after the updates / firmware were completed, the USB mouse stopped working properly and was intermittent. Many different mice have been used that work perfectly fine else where, but have an issue on the SB 2.

There is absolutely no doubt that this is a firmware issue with the Surface!

Changing power battery options does not cause the device to function properly.

Going into a recovery for a Windows install is not a solution, as Windows is not the issue here.

Please fix ASAP as it makes these two devices useless to use.

I have been dealing with Microsoft for the last few weeks regarding to this issue.

It shocked me how slow and how inefficient Microsoft was in dealing with such as issue caused by their own fault. 

They seemed know nothing about the issue, know nothing about how this could happen and keeping asking me doing this and that such as resetting or recovery which are absolutely useless.

They denied to replace my device with a new one meanwhile without even being able to provide a solution. I just cannot imagine why it is so hard for Microsoft to simply release a tool to help revert the UEFI to correct their own problem.

I've had the same problem, mainly because of the English barrier.  I don't think there are any USA based support people to talk with.  When I try to explain my problems, they never seem to get it.
