Mouse freeze on surface book 2 after the most recent firmware UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 update!!! especially when power adapter plugged in

I've been watching this thread for a while and asked an internal contact to look into it. He has responded as follows:

I was able to reproduce this issue although not as easily as some say.  I have been running tracing and working with Windows engineering.  The best thing I can recommend that is customers report this issue via feedback hub.  Choose the input and language\mouse and include data about “Performance”.  Uncheck the screenshots of each step.

Download the "Surface Book 2 Drivers and Firmware" that matches you OS Build number.

To check you OS Build number, Click on the Start menu > Settings > System > About > Under "Windows specification".

My OS build number was 17763.292 so i downloaded the "SurfaceBook2_Win10_17763_1805009_0.msi"

Install it and restart your computer.

Should solve your mouse lag/freeze.

Has unfortunately not changed the Problem for me. High Performance, USB Mouse, stuttering when the load becomes high.

There are some factors affecting the performance of your mouse on the Surface Book 2 like current OS version, hardware compatibility, updates that are not yet installed, etc. However, to be able to understand the issue better, let us know more details by answering the following questions:

• Were there any other changes made to your Surface aside from the firmware update?

• Can you confirm if those mice are gaming mouse? Did you check if those mice have any softwares/firmwares/drivers installed on your Surface? If so, is it updated as well?

• As for the Microsoft wireless mouse you include, which model? Did you check for the LED status (if available)? How about the battery?

• Also, we would like to know if the issue is noticeable while using it, or after you wake the device from sleep?

To help solve this issue, we'd like to make sure that the Surface is up to date by going to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update then Select Check for updates (Select "Restart now" if prompted). If you have difficulty installing updates from Windows Update, you can download and run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit. 3. If that doesn't work, proceed to download and run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.
4. In case that the wireless mouse have no power left, replace the battery. If it's rechargeable, plug in to the device via USB cable.

Facing same problem in Surface Pro 4 also. Please advice

Close but still having some issues.  It has helped the mouse from locking up when my polling rate is set to 500 (I had to lower it to 250 previous).  I still get lockups if I set it to 1,000.  I tried a bunch of those direct downloads from Microsoft in the past and none of them fixed the problem, but this one semi fixed it, so I will consider it a fix for now.  It could also be my situation, I have 2 external monitors as well as the surface going while using Autocad, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
