Mouse freeze on surface book 2 after the most recent firmware UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 update!!! especially when power adapter plugged in

I thought I might add this info, as we have two of these Surface Book 2's, both causing USB issues, one of them worse than the other.

After firmwaring both the surface and dock up to newest revisions over months and months of testing and no real improvement, I decided to reinstall back to factory as a final test and I can say that I have had zero USB dropouts since doing so. It's only been a day but in saying that I would experience USB drop outs every couple of minutes, prior to this reinstall.

Might not be a fix for all, but looks like a possible thing for others to try.

I didn't see anyone else mention anything about the keyboard and touchscreen inputs also freezing with the mouse.

My mouse will randomly freeze along will ALL input devises including the keyboard and touchscreen.

HOWEVER, during a input freeze the screen itself is not frozen. I can still see the cursor flash or a video play. Also, even though I do not see the typing, it is typing.

This occurs plugged in or on the battery.

If I'm plugged in, I can simply unplug from power and switch to battery to unfreeze. If I'm in battery only, if I close the lid and open again it will unfreeze. When it unfreezes, this is when I can see what I typed while it was frozen or moved the mouse etc.

What is odd is the fact the entire screen is not frozen, just the input from the mouse, keyboard and touchscreen appear to be frozen.... but are actually still working in the background and just not moving on the screen.

This is my second SurfaceBook 2. The first one had the video card disappearing issues PLUS this issue I'm having currently. They gave me a refurb which worked perfectly until a recent update about a month ago. I do not know which update but all I can say is it started out of the blue. Now it is completely random and a clear event viewer.

Paid over $2k, as you all did, to have these issues. My surface book was an amazing machine... too bad this experience has been nothing but disappointing.

Lowering my Logitech G403 polling rate to 500 has seemed to stop the issue... for now. The problem is so intermittent though, that who knows - it may come back in the future!

I also disabled the Intel UHD graphics via device manager and just had my NVidia geforce 1050 running. That also seemed to greatly reduce the occurrence of the freezing to about once per 10 minutes, but not quite as much as reducing the polling rate (which so far has eliminated the issue completely).

Maybe it is a problem with the graphics drivers (or how the BIOS manages them) because i have noticed that the system still accepts the input eventually. The mouse will flash to the location to where you moved it during the time that the cursor was frozen.

This is great to hear.

Two things:

1. How does one reduce the polling rate on a mouse?
2. Who is willing to be the poster child for this problem? I will volunteer to contact media outlets as soon as we can figure out who can be the "face" of this issue.

Using a G703 and I confirm that lowering the polling rate to 500 has fixed this issue for me.
