Mouse freeze on surface book 2 after the most recent firmware UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 update!!! especially when power adapter plugged in

There is a big issue in the recent firmware/driver update pushed to the surface book 2. The usb mouse became not really usable. There is a frequent lag/freeze happened to the mouse. Such issue was not there before the firmware update.

The mouse I tried including Logitech G703, G402, microsoft wireless mouse, etc.

Many people have discussed this now but not solution is provided and the problem cannot be solved now:

A further test can now confirm that the issue is either in the UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 or the system aggregator version 728.128.137.0.

After updated these two modules to those versions, the issue start to appear. This has been confirmed on more than one surface book 2 devices.

The previous version of the UEFI starting from 388 and aggregator version 728.77.137.0 do not have such issue. I can see at the moment, the 389 version of UEFI is not pushed anymore and the firmware/driver pack downloaded from Microsoft has the 388 version now.

But for those surface book 2 which has already got the 389 version pushed cannot revert back to the 388 version. Please fix this asap.

    Hello,

I have the same problem. I using SB2 with all the latest updates, an updated dock, Microsoft USB keyboard and mouse with Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and no difference. The keyboard is also affected sometimes I'll be typing and I'll get something like "                          " or "ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff" show up right after the lag spike.

Is there a solution for this yet?

So I had been using my SB2 on 1709 undocked for several months because I was traveling and had a bad experience trying to upgrade to 1803 (thankfully was able to revert to a restore point). My touch pad started freezing especially when two finger scrolling in August. Now I am done traveling, updated to 1803 and the latest firmware, and its unbelievable how Microsoft can make things worse and worse with each update. I too am having issues when docked on my external keyboard having a lag/spike and getting a "ffffffffffffffffffffff" and my computer seems slow and laggy a lot of the time and fan running full blast. These weren't issues before I updated and I wish I hadn't. I have been watching my PC performance and am never really using more than half the RAM/CPU. I don't know why it gets laggy then. Even after closing all open applications, the SB2 was still laggy and fan running full speed. A reboot solved the issue for now. Good grief Microsoft.

No, the issue is definitely no as visible on their community site as it is here.  I'll search again on their site, if I don't find much, I'll start one.

    Hello Joseph,

Just received my 15in SB2 a few days ago and used it for two days with no issues before finally having the time to install a G502 gaming mouse.  I immediately started having the problems described here in these posts.

There have been no changes to my system except for whatever updates were installed when I first connected to the internet by windows update.

I am using a Logitech G502 gaming mouse with its own installed software that is currently up to date.

The issue happens, typically after 15-20 minutes of use doing business related tasks such as excel, RDP, and web browsing.  This issue has not happened while a game application was running.

Whats the plan?  I love my SB2 so far, but I need my mouse!

    Thank You

Would be interested to see what Logitech has to say on this... have you contacted them?
