Surface pro 7 login says "Couldn't turn on the camera, please sign in with your pin"

I'm having the same problem with my week-old Surface Pro 7. It looks like this has been an issue for years, by the look of internet searches, how can this still be a problem? Is there any word if it will ever be fixed? Trying to decide if I should return it and go back to the "other" platform I had been using for years before the return window closes.

Same as mine. Must be some kind of firmware issue.

There's a few of us having the same problem. Once you restart it works for a few days then does it again. After the recent update on my Surface pro 7 Windows Hello Face not working and its saying "Couldn't turn on the camera, please sign in with your pin"

I have the exact same problem, I did reboot it, holding volume and pressing / releasing power button thinking the cameras might not be turned on but they were so no sure where to take it now? I have no third party antivirus installed as well.

• 1.Press and hold the power button until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds), then release the power button.
• 2.Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You should see the Microsoft logo.
