Surface Book 3 Randomly Freezing

As im working on my new $3500 Surface Book 3 i can't help but be extremely annoyed because the screen/mouse just randomly freeze, usually for about 5-10 seconds then its back to normal. Sometimes it will freeze and i have to hit the power button and that seems to unfreeze it. Very annoying, not to mention the screen dimming and getting bright on its own even though the option for it to do that is turned off.

2021-03-28T02:02:56+00:00 I was one of the people originally complaining about usb stuttering issues I got surface book 3 as soon as it came out …. I’m happy to report that with the latest firmare from a few weeks ago I no longer experience these issues. My high polling USB mouse no longer glitches, and the keyboard repeating or none response issues are no longer present. I use surface book 3 with 32gb ram and 1tb ssd, with Nividia quadro for 3d mechanical design and video editing. It’s plenty fast. Working out if multiple locations you can’t beat mobility with the magnetic connector and the dock (latest generation). I used surface book 2 for more than 2 years, and this is by far a much needed upgrade. Here are things to consider for surface book 4
- Maybe have a model without detachable screen.
- Fix the sleep issue, since right now in some edge cases putting surface book 3 to sleep and then opening it again messes up detection of the nvidia card This is not a deal breaker
3. more ram… bigger ssd. At least 2TB
So, at this point with latest firmware and updates I’m extremely happy with my setup.

2021-03-27T21:01:38+00:00 Actually don't buy the Surface Book 3 ever. It's now a 1-year old expensive product - obsolete in technology terms. Maybe a Surface Book 4 - but they ruined the brand with the 3.

2021-03-16T00:40:21+00:00 I've had this problem since my Surface 3 arrived in the fall: probably 25 times. Sometimes I can get it to resolve by clicking the pen at the screen, which causes the whiteboard to come up and kicks it back into action. It happens frequently when I am gaming online. I hear the clock running out on me but can't get the screen to respond. Extremely frustrating.
It really is pretty amazing in light of the extra cost of these models.
