Hi Shim Sunhyung
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with Microsoft Surface studio 2 wherein there is a creaky noise on the external keyboard. This may be caused by a few different things, such as a loose key or debris stuck under the keys.
Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue. To get started I will ask a few questions to further fix the issue.
- Just to verify, are you using a Surface studio 2 or a Surface laptop studio?
- Are this concern starts since you got the device from the start?
- Did you make any changes to your Surface device before this issue started?
- This issue happens in any app you open or only happens in a specific app.
- Does the crackling sound occur only when you use the touchpad, or does it happen randomly?
We will do some basic troubleshooting to further fix the issue.
- Turn off your Surface Studio 2 and unplug the keyboard.
- Next, turn the keyboard upside down and gently shake it to see if any debris falls out.
- Next, use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that may be stuck under the keys.
- Next, check to see if any keys are loose or sticking. If so, gently press down on the key to see if it snaps back into place.
- Then plug the keyboard back in and turn on your Surface Studio 2 to see if the issue has been resolved.
If you are using a Surface laptop studio. Please follow this step below.
- Restart your Surface Laptop Studio 2 and see if the issue persists.
- Do a Force Shutdown to clear the hardware cache of the device by pressing and holding down the power button for 20 seconds.
- We will check if there are any update available on your Surface laptop studio. Please select Start > Settings > Windows Update
- Next, we will download and run theSurface diagnostic toolkit to your Surface device. This will fix any hidden issue on your Surface laptop studio.
- Next, we will be going to download the driver pack on your Surface device. They will help us update the hardware on your Surface device. After download install and then after installation is complete, please restart the Surface to apply changes.
Please tell me how it goes.
Kind regards,
Christopher.
