Surface Pro 7 camera doesn't work and light always on until reboot

Hello! I have Surface Pro 7 i3 4/128 Gb. Camera works several times for Windows Hello and then stops, camera light always on until reboot. I have all updates.

I tried:

  1. uninstall camera in Device Manager;
  2. check and uncheck camera in UEFI;
  3. fresh start and reset;
  4. reinstall Windows with MediaCreationTool1909.

The last method helped me for a week, camera light stopped turns on for Windows Hello (only IR camera turned on) and camera worked. Now camera turns on again and stops after 2-10 times. How to fix it?

    Same issue today. Went to the trouble of reformating/reinstalling windows 10 and same problem. Very frustrating - the cameras were a core selling feature for the Surface lineup for me.

    Frustrating that they are not more reliable. Need a solution other than 'restart' (which I am doing multiple times a day) or I will need to change devices.

    Same problem. I have returned two surface pros and now on my third. This needs to be addressed.

    Same issue here. Also getting blue screens when using the camera with stop code: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

    Occasionally when trying to use the front camera, get the error 

    "Close Other Apps

    It looks like another app is using the camera already.

    If you need it, here's the error code:

    0xA00F4243<CameraReservedByAnotherApp> (0xC00D3704)"

    Often, no other apps are open much less using the camera.

    Some comfort in knowing I am not alone but come on Microsoft! 

    I have another Surface Pro 7 that does not have this issue. The one having the issue is an i3 - could that be a factor?

    The two pros that I have this issue are both i3. Mine is i5 and doesn't have this problem.
