Surface Pro 7 camera doesn't work and light always on until reboot

Hello! I have Surface Pro 7 i3 4/128 Gb. Camera works several times for Windows Hello and then stops, camera light always on until reboot. I have all updates.

I tried:

  1. uninstall camera in Device Manager;
  2. check and uncheck camera in UEFI;
  3. fresh start and reset;
  4. reinstall Windows with MediaCreationTool1909.

The last method helped me for a week, camera light stopped turns on for Windows Hello (only IR camera turned on) and camera worked. Now camera turns on again and stops after 2-10 times. How to fix it?

    I have the same problems with my i3 Surface 7. And i think it‘s a absolutly no-go to get no reaction from Microsoft. What‘s the status of this case? Where is the problem? All the work-arounds doesn‘t work! Why does nobody communicate with us!?

    Interesting.  So, everyone with this problem:  Do we all have i3s?

    Now considering upgrading to i5 just to avoid this issue!!

    For me it is happening on an i5 when the processor is highly utilized. I suspect it happens more on i3 because the processor gets overloaded easier.

    My i5 is fine, it’s just the i3. It doesn’t seem this would have been difficult to identify when releasing the product with the i3 processor.

    I’ve now been waiting for tech support for 1 hour, 4 minutes and researching while I wait. I’m outside of my return window now so have to get some kind of resolution. Restarting when I want to use the camera is not acceptable. and the blue screens aren’t cool either.

    I was thinking about disabling windows hello as well but occassionally have trouble with the rear facing camera too. This is so very disappointing. not sure a warranty replacement would solve anything if this is an i3 issue.
