Surface Pro 7 camera doesn't work and light always on until reboot

Hello! I have Surface Pro 7 i3 4/128 Gb. Camera works several times for Windows Hello and then stops, camera light always on until reboot. I have all updates.

I tried:

  1. uninstall camera in Device Manager;
  2. check and uncheck camera in UEFI;
  3. fresh start and reset;
  4. reinstall Windows with MediaCreationTool1909.

The last method helped me for a week, camera light stopped turns on for Windows Hello (only IR camera turned on) and camera worked. Now camera turns on again and stops after 2-10 times. How to fix it?

    having the same problem.

    core i3 version. they even exchaged my unit, which was having blue screens "PFN LIST CORRUPT" when trying to use the camera after it was bugged by windows hello. happened randomly just by using camera either.

    my new replacement device has the same issue, camera gets bugged by windows hello from time to time, haveing to restar. 

    im sure this is software related, not hardware, since 2 devices had exactly the same problem and becasuse it fixes by a reboot.

    Adding myself to the pile of people with this issue. My Surface Pro 7 is i5. Issues happens to me seemingly totally randomly and no fix aside from a restart. It has been happening periodically ever since I bought it almost a year ago, but finally got frustrated enough to try figure it out. Sad to see that there is no solution yet.

    Hey Jeannette. 

    Im having the same issue as well as the community. So many of us having this issue and there you are not replying since June. Very nice support from Microsoft. From the date of purchase till now SP7 has been haunting me with so many problems. I truly regretted not getting a Dell XPS or Macbook Pro

    Please give us some solution.

    Sooooooo... Microsoft ''tried'' to help for the first 10 posts and after that it's all in dust... Same microsoft annoying problem here with my SP7 i7. 2-3 times a week! Not recommending the product anymore.

    Interesting, it doesn't seem like it should be related to CPU.  But does anyone have this issue with i5 though?

    Yes, I have the same problem on i5 from time to time. Not very often.

    I was reading this thread and a camera light turned off by itself after some time. It seems a camera is not working (Black screen on Skype), and I need to reboot to make it work again.

    It's not a big problem for me. I've seen this issue only a few times.

    UPDATE: After reboot, it's working again as it should. No problem.
