I honestly do not understand all the flak over the RT not being able to run legacy apps.
If a printer cannot run on it, that is a problem and hopefully MS will deal with that through a software update.
However the ability to run legacy?
I look at it this way: Windows phone 8 will be using the same model windows 8 / rt uses with the windows store. I believe future xbox consoles will be using the same or a very similar architecture. Every single windows rt, windows 8 laptop, pc and tablet
will be having the windows store.
THIS is the direction of windows in ALL forms. In a matter of a couple of years as more and more apps are made for the windows store, does anyone believe there will be a large percentage of people using legacy apps?
As a developer, I am not even considering making legacy apps anymore when I can make apps that hit every single one of their products.
I just bought my Surface RT and made the decision which model to buy solely based on the fact that I think Surface Pro will be a waste, I do not feel that in the very near future that legacy support will really be needed.
This is all just my own opinions and maybe I am missing something, but I just do not understand the flak over lack of legacy support.
