Hi Folks,

I do want to change my damaged Microsoft Surface USB Link device an pair my Micrsoft Surface Headset

Microsoft recomendation is to use the app "Surface", but this app is crashing every time:

  • when Surface USB Link is connected before starting the app -> app is immediately crashing
  • When app is started before connecting -> app is crashing after connecting the Surface USB Link

Any ideas?

    Hi,

I am running my Computer on Windows 10. I have also tried to connect the Micrsosoft Surface USB Link Adapter to 3 other PCs, including Microsoft Surface Notebook.

On every PC I have the same issue. No app is detecting the adapter or crashing after inserting to the USB port.

I have no problem with the Headset. I only want to link my headset to a new USB Link Adapter, but this seems not to be possible with none of the available apps!

Please solve this issue! The mentioned apps are either not working or not available in the store!

    • The Surface Audio app is not available on the Microsoft store. The Link you have shared did not allow to download this app. No install button can be found! I assume it has been removed from the store!
    • The Surface App is crashing every time I connect the Microft Surface Link USB Adapter. I tried multiple times to restart, repair, reinstall
    • The Microsoft Accessory Center should work the Surface Link USB Adapter, but does not recognise it.
    • The Microsoft Surface Manager Extension also does not show any install button. I also assume it has been removed from the store

    Regards

I'm sorry to hear that the same issue is happening on your end. May I confirm what host device you're using to connect the Microsoft USB link? Have you tried to download the Surface App to a different device? see article: Set up Surface Headphones. Are you using a device with Windows 10 or 11?

    Hi,

I have the exact same probleme. Only that I have a brand new usb link. I already used the surface headphones for some time witought usb link. As I wasn't totally happy about a few synch issues with MS Teams I bought the usb link to see if it helps at all.

But I do not get to pair my headphone to the usb link for the exact some reasons that John Neil_J mentioned.

I'd be also very happy to get this issue solved.

Thank you for responding. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having issues with the Surface App.

The Microsoft Surface Link USB is only used to be able to pair and configure your Surface Headphones 2+. Have you tried to pair the Surface Headphone 2+ to a different device like a cellphone?

May I confirm what type of host device you're using to plug in the USB link?
