Guys.. please
this is becoming a joke.. all worked fine for 1st month maybe, not sure but I think after some update GPU disappeared. I'm not gonna describe the whole story because it is well described below already.
I spent several afternoons trying to fix that issue .. got it to work for a while and gone again. It is so annoying ! 29th of march installed SurfaceBook2_Win10_16299_1801009_0.msi and I was delighted . It was looking really solid and resistant to attach, detach, reboots
and so on. And today again boom... seen laptop rebooted itself (like it tends to do quite often while is asleep.. don't know why???) and GPU vanished again! OK i think.. probably windows updated or nvidia and killed the SB2 driver again so downloaded SurfaceBook_Win10_15063_1801500_3.msi
...and it's telling me that it cannot install because this is not SB2 laptop !
Downloaded SurfaceBook_Win10_1701000_0.msi and SAME message !
Cannot see other fixes out there !
Reinstalled SurfaceBook2_Win10_16299_1801009_0.msi still no GPU... no surprise anymore.
So ..well over gig of data downloaded and still nothing - for a small driver update needed.
I know it's wrong thread but I have no time for digging, these small up-down arrow keys are a joke too, as well as lack of even one USB port in screen ,cannot use light tablet with pendrive ? WHY? not mention about that weird noise from keyboard, I think
DC/DC switching charger or converter, sounds nearly same as old mechanical HDD running there while power cable is connected to the laptop and excessive heat on the back of the screen when in performance mode- u have a big duct between keyboard and screen ,
why not redirect a bit of cold air or stick another small fan in screen as u did in 15inch model. ah and the pen - couldn't buy it for a month at least -was out of stock forever - I would normally expect gadgets like that to be included with the device of
this price tag.
Same as stupid screen protector and sleeve or case.
Spent Hours to fix WiFi speed at very beginning too, and bought 5g router for another 200eur because 2.4g didn't work properly with this one of 6 devices at home !
So tell me please ... is 3 thousand euro really not enough these days to get the basics without design flaws?
People buying that kind of equipment in most cases NEEDS its functions to do some work not to look at nice enclosure!
Paying triple price, from serious company to get peace of mind and expecting everything to work from same company branding software and hardware. Never expected incompatibilities within one brand! I got expensive product with issues instead, wasted a lot
of time trying to sort some of them out multiple times, and now I have all work-software and lots of data installed and really trying to avoid changing hardware again but if nothing will change quickly this is gonna be a dealbreaker for me !
And I'm expecting permanent fix... not one working until next stupid update ( usually next week, come on - how many updates does win10 need a month! I cannot see any difference in operating of this machine except actually more problems and massive broadband/hdd
usage).
Is it really impossible to get it right once for good, within one automatic cumulative update of windows, nvidia and SB2 drivers together?! This is ONE device not 3. I shouldn't have to look for fixes myself at all - this should be automatically detected
and fixed without me noticing any issues !
Maybe considering product recall would be a good idea or at least inform people about issues/fixes through e-mail etc. instead getting customers paying high price to waste their valuable time for diy-ing.
Or we are back to 1995 ? I had similar problems back than with PCs .
Now You are telling me that You are working on it .. this should be all tested and fixed long time ago before product hit the market.
And don't thank me for feedback.. this is not one . Just get it done. People are seriously complaining here.
Regards
