Does Surface RT or Surface Pro support Miracast (wireless display)?

Thank you for your question. No, Surface does not have support for Miracast wireless display. You can however use the video out display with either a VGA or HDMI cable to display on a bigger screen or monitor.

The original Surface RT does not support Miracast. Therefore the Microsoft

How can I get a wireless display adapter that will work with my surface RT since it will not support miracast I tried a V-linker but Microsoft does not support an app for that device. What products will work with the surface RT that Microsoft has an app for?
Microsoft does not have any apps that support mirroring from the Surface RT. As you know, Miracast is not supported on the Surface RT (original). I'm not aware of any hardware vendors that have alternative mirroring dongles that have modern apps to allow you to use them with a Surface RT.
Trying to get MS Wireless Display Adapter to work with Surface tablet. There is no option under Devices -> Project -> for Add a wireless display. I have all the updates. I have restarted Surface. Still no option. Help, please!
Turns out that the Surface RT is not compatible with the MSWireless Display Adapter.

Connect Surface 2 to a wireless display With Surface 2, you can connect to some displays wirelessly. (This isn't available for Surface RT.)

The Surface Pro seems to have the specs to support WiDi.

I found two issues to help solve this
First, if you are connected to another monitor through HMDI or the docking station you will not be able to connect to the wireless display adapter (even if your computer paired)
Second. If you have VPN there is a work around. But you have to disable the VPN indirectly.
You can then close out if you wish
OK - now you won't be able to use your VPN until you go back to step 1 and in step 2 recheck the Deterministic Network Enhancer and click OK.
I normally don't post, but spent days searching the internet and found this and give credit to the poster. at
Maybe I made it a little simpler to find the WiFi network connections. There are other ways that may be faster. One is to right click the little WiFi icon on the bottom right of the screen in the task bar in desktop mode. Select Open Network and Sharing Center. Select Change Adapter Settings on the left of he screen, then right click the Wi-Fi. All the methods seem to take a few clicks to get there and uncheck that box Deterministic Network Enhancer and click OK (and later go back and reset if you want to use your VPN over your internet connection). Seems like this is some sort of security setting the VPN vendors install. Good Surfing on your big screen TV (for me is a bigger screen for my Surface Pro 3 when traveling and some hotels have TVs that are capable, or have a HDMI port and USB port.. and a controller that allows you to switch sources to that HDMI port (not all or even many do)
