Bluetooth Mouse lag

Hi,

I have a very similar (if not the very same) issue with my MS Surface Pro 128GB and my MS Wedge Touch Mouse.

It works ok - no lags - as long as I don't connect a Bluetooth keyboard.

The laggy movement of the mouse pointer starts when I connect my BT keyboard (SpeedLink ATHERA SL-7438-BK  http://www.speedlink.com/?p=2&cat=242&pid=27746).

The BT keyboard itself works properly in conjunction with the Wedge Touch Mouse.

I have tested both BT devices connected to a Lenovo ThinkPad running Win7x64: there is no lag in mouse pointer movements on the ThinkPad. So there is no general issue using these two BT input devices together but only when both connected to Surface Pro. There is also no issue when the Wedge Touch Mouse is connected to the Surface Pro and the BT keyboard is connected to the ThinkPad (of course at the same time within the same room). I just checked to exclude a general radio issue caused by the BT keyboard.

As opposed to others I haven't noticed those lags in conjunction with heavy WLAN traffic. My WiFi base station is an AVM Fritz!Box 7390 with both 2.4Ghz n+g+b and 5GHz n+a enabled. Since I'm additionally using two AVM FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 300E to relay the 2.4GHz band the Surface Pro is connected via 2.4GHz.

Any thoughts on this?

Same as you. I bought the Rapoo 6080 yesterday. When I use it with my Surface Pro, it have the same lagging problem. I thought it was my mouse problem but now i think it's the driver problem...

I experience the same issue when my phone is connected to my Surface Pro 128 via Bluetooth.  I'm a basic user, but could we be experiencing some type of Bluetooth bandwidth issue?  If so, will driver updates fix the issue? I would like to be able to have more than one Bluetooth device connected to my Surface Pro at one time.

Here are some more observations regarding the mouse pointer lag issue:

• when there is no WiFi HotSpot around then I'm using Blutooth Tethering via my Samsung Galaxy Note. In such a configuration I don't have a lag with the BT Wedge Touch Mouse (as long as the BT keyboard isn't connected too). I wouldn't expect a BT bandwidth limitation when using a BT keyboard since some key strokes won't cause heavy traffic.
• I recently tested with another BT Mouse (Logitech M555b http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/5747?section=overview&crid=398&osid=23&bit=64) and - surprise - there was no lag in mouse pointer movement with this Logitech Mouse when the BT keyboard was connected too!

So it seems that - in my case - there is "only" a BT issue when using the BT keyboard in conjunction with the Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse on a Microsoft Surface Pro!?!

For now I'm going to use the Logitech Mouse instead of the MS Mouse when I'm at home/office doing intensive text processing (Word, VS etc.) with the BT keyboard. The Wedge Touse Mouse is currently only good for me when travelling without the large BT keyboard.

Same problem here on Windows 8.0 (up-to-date) with Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 or Lenovo Bluetooth Laser Mouse. Surface Pro is connected with 2.4 GHz. Tried different WIFI channels, but no improvement. Sometimes there is no lag like today, but the other day the lag is horrible.

I have to use some Bluetooth medical sensors for work. It does not operate correct when the lag is there. Very annoying! So the Surface is more a toy than a pro tool for me. Too bad...

The only (not satisfying) solution is to use a Bluetooth USB dongle. There is no lag. To make this work properly you have to disable/uninstall the build in Bluetooth radio in device manager.
