Bluetooth Mouse lag

I´ve spoken to the Microsoft Support. He said the problem isnt known to Microsoft but he will forward my error report. I gave him the link to this thread.

I, however, have no hopes right now because of a "fun" fact: I´ve spoken to the Microsoft Support (different person) in March about this and back then she said the same thing.

But nothing happened.

He also said that 8.1 will fix a lot of things. But seeing what new problems 8.1 RTM is bringing I have my doubts.

I guess just to add another case to the pile: I have a Surface Pro 128 and have been using a Wedge mouse with no problems. However, I bought a bluetooth game pad (Steelseries Free) and found this lag issue with both devices when connected at the same time. Interestingly, even after turning off the game pad, the mouse still lags until I restart the Surface.

It certainly would be nice to get an acknowledgement here from Microsoft. I suppose we'll all wait another month (those of us who don't have early access), install 8.1 and then see what happens.

I installed 8.1 (final release, available on Technet) on my Surface Pro and I'm sad to report the problem is still there. Come on Microsoft! This is an easy to verify and glaring problem on the Surface Pro.

In the past, I have vowed to never buy bluetooth mice again since I ALWAYS have some sort of trouble connecting them. In my mind a mouse should just work. But then I thought, with only one USB port, I'm going to need it for the Surface. Piece o'****, again. On top of the lag problem I also have trouble getting it to connect. I have to turn it on and off, open the battery door and generally mess around with it to make it work on a regular basis. So I vow again to NEVER buy another bluetooth mouse! Grrrr

Guess I will have to use a small dongle USB hub and a Logitech Unify mouse (which ALWAYS work BTW)

I picked up a Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth (Surface edition) and am having the same problems as you all listed here.  Boot SP, turn on Bluetooth mouse, works fine for about five minutes and then the mouse starts to get super laggy (this lasts for a few seconds) and then the mouse stops responding and the Wifi is dead.  I have nothing plugged into the USB port and no other Bluetooth devices connected.  Running Windows 8.1 on SP 128gb model.  Reboot and I'm back working for a few minutes again.

Unusable and I purchased the Bluetooth mouse so that I could have my USB port free when I need it.

MS - this has been going on for quite some time from the looks of this thread - this is basic functionality that must be fixed!

I have been having this same issue since day one with my Surface Pro as well.  I have been troubleshooting this every way I can possible think of, and here is what I found:

1. The bluetooth lag affects both bluetooth mice and keyboards (mouse lags, keyboard lags and repeats keys at random)
2. It happens when outbound data is completely saturating the WiFi connection on 2.4 Ghz AND 5 Ghz.
3. Saturating inbound network connections has no effect.
4. This occurs with all current Microsoft bluetooth keyboards and mice.  I have tested them all.
5. It also occurs with Logitech bluetooth keyboards and their ultrathin touch mouse (awesome mouse, by the way....much better than the Microsoft Surface touch mouse).

There appears to be an inbound bandwidth issue with the Marvell chip that is causing bluetooth connections to become such a low priority that it causes delays and data glitches in the case of repeating keys on bluetooth keyboards.

Hopefully the Surface Pro 2 uses a different chip....
