Bluetooth Mouse lag

Recently bought the Surface Pro 128GB.

Having been annoyed by the temperament of the touchpad, I bought a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse.

What I've found is that, when copying data over a network, the bluetooth mouse begins to lag.

Using the touchpad/pen is unaffected.

Makes me wonder whether the Wireless NIC and Bluetooth Module are using the same bus and/or whether this is a known issue.

    Hi there BChriscoli.

    Sorry to hear you are having troubles with your Bluetooth mouse on Surface. To clarify, you only notice the lag when copying data, correct? Can you further explain what you mean by the mouse lags? Is the cursor slow to scroll or mouse not recognized when clicking?

    How much data do you copy over at a time? Are you using a certain app?

    Afternoon,

    Correct, bBuetooth mouse only lags when data is copying over the network.

    It has ranged from 500MB to several GB of data.

    The cursor begins to scroll much slower (much like an RDP session over a bad connection).

    Selecting is also delayed by a few milliseconds.

    Using the touchscreen or keyboard touchpad does not show the problem, hence why I believe it is down to a possible shared bus between the Wifi NIC and the Bluetooth Adapter,

    No apps are in play, just point to point wifi data transfer.

    I completely agree. This has been a HUGE problem since I got my Surface Pro as well. I transfer A LOT of data over the network because of my job and when using a Bluetooth mouse, any size network transfer causes the Bluetooth mouse to lag HORRIBLY. It is essentially useless during the transfer. The touchpad on the type cover works fine, and if I use a regular wireless mouse by plugging in a usb receiver, that also works fine. Neither of these workflows are acceptable since A) The touch pad does not give me the easy/range of motion I need during the day, and B) There is only ONE usb port, which I often need for a thumb drive or portable hard drive. This issue occurs with ANY Bluetooth mouse during any sort of sizeable network transfer (e.g. 50MB+).

    Greetings everyone,

    Regarding this issue, does your Surface Pro have all Windows Updates? Does this occur on a Wireless G or Wireless N network? Does this happen every time you move a large amount of data at once (500MB+ ) ?

    I have all Windows Updates installed.

    I've tested this on a Wireless G network and it occurs. Not had the chance to test an N Network yet.

    I've only tested with Windows ISOs, however Mr Garrett said it was 50MB+
