Bluetooth Mouse lag

This one's very frustrating.... not being able to download in the background whilst doing other tasks... Christ....

Pretty disappointing that I have to plug in a wired mouse to keep working... which means hard drive/thumb drive etc have to come out.

Wouldn't mind a response from Microsoft to know whether they're addressing this.

I too am very frustrated by this.

I wish to use my Surface Pro 2 as a professional workstation, but the mouse lag is completely unacceptable. Nowhere have I ever experienced such a delay with a mouse. It makes using the device as a professional design tool downright impossible. The trackpad on the Surface keyboards is a terrible substitute for a real input device. 

Using a wired or a USB-dongle mouse is not an option since the Surface Pro 2 only has a single USB port.

If I wanted half-assed Bluetooth support, I would have purchased an iOS product.

I have good news regarding to the general WLAN troubles of the Surface Pro 2:

After the manual update of the integrated Marvell WLAN and Bluetooth-device drivers to Ver. 14.69.24049.160 (from 08.Nov.2013) the ping-times are now the same as with any other WLAN device and I have no more disconnects between Outlook 2013 and Outlook.com and also my messenger stays permanent online now.

The bad news:

as already stated before, even though this may fix the issue, users don't always have 5GHz capable routers nor connectable devices. I don't, so this is no option for me.

It's also not possible for me to change to 5GHz - there must be another solution, maybe a Driver/Firmware-Update for the Marvell-Chip which gives Bluetooth a higher priority than WLAN?

I thought because the Hard- and the Software for the Surface is from Microsoft there should be no compatibility issues! But once more it looks like the MS-guys don't use their own products... sad but true :-(

Sometimes I also have the issue that the bluetooth mouse gets disconnected during high WLAN traffic and at the same moment the WLAN device shows a yellow callsign and doesn't work anymore.

Because it's not possible to open the WLAN status/settings or the network control panel anymore I cannot say what's the reason for this.

After a reboot it is working again, but surely still with a horrible mouse lag during downloads or local file transfers (e.g. from or to my Windows Home Server)

I always have to use the touchpad instead the Bluetooth mouse because the mouse isn't useable anymore until the WLAN traffic is finished :-(

btw: Windows 8.1 and the Surface Pro 2 Firmware is up-to-date and I tried 4 different n-WLAN Networks, it's always and everywhere the same disaster!

If you use 5ghz wifi, you should not have any issues.  That fixed it 100% for me.  The issue is being caused by 2.4ghz wifi and bluetooth being on similar frequencies.
