Bluetooth Mouse lag

Greetings all,

A limited number of Surface Pro 2 customers may be experiencing interrupted connectivity with Bluetooth peripherals. We are looking into the situation and working on a resolution.

Surface Pro 128gb (1st Gen)

Windows 8.1 64-bit

All windows/system updates installed

Logitech m555b Bluetooth mouse

There is an extreme delay in responsiveness of Bluetooth devices when WiFi is enabled.  Disabling the WiFi radio eliminates the problem.

I think it's unacceptable that Microsoft has yet to give us a straight answer or solution through its moderators. I called the Surface Support team and had a nice long 3 hour discussion with a representative a few weeks back. They pretty much said there is no solution since it's hardware frequency interference so I went ahead and bought a 5 GHz router through a price match at best buy.

Ever since I haven't had the problem at all. It sucks since this really isn't a solution to the problem it's just a work around and worse yet it's one that costs us money. But since I have bluetooth headphones, mouse, keyboard, and Push to TV unit that were all operating in the same band it was worth it for me. Plus the new router has some nice new features and works really well.

What still sucks though is if I try to connect to wifi in any public location or hotel I still get the same old interference.

If Microsoft acknowledges the interference is in the hardware and that cannot be somehow lessened with some clever drivers programming, they acknowledged it's bad hardware.

Indeed we have all had wifi and bluetooth hardware for a long time, and personally I never encountered such problem before.

So, again, Microsoft should have tested this wireless chip _before_

This is even worse if one considers that they knew the problem was there already with the 1st gen Surface.

Bottom line: if they acknowledge the issue, they MUST refund us for buying a 5GHz router.

This however, as written in the quote, solves the issue only when we're at home.

there doesnt seem to be the option to disable the Bluetooth Collaboration on the Surface Pro. is that the one you are referring to?
