Power Cover Not Charging 100% 0% 100% ???

I've seen many post, but no answers?  Surface Pro Classic and just bought a Power Cover.  Power Cover is recognized as both a keyboard and a battery under devises.  All firmware ever pushed is there and updated. Battery #1 and Battery #2 show in the battery menu...but not charging or maybe 100% charged is completely depleted. 

Once the internal battery reaches 80% (or so) the Power Cover charge goes from 0% to 100% and not charging.  Once the internal battery is depleted, the Surface shuts off and the Power Cover sits there happily doing nothing to help. 

Has Microsoft just ignored the many people that this problem has occurred to, or is there not a fix.  I'm trying to hold out till the Surface Go, but this battery thing is annoying to deal with.

Please don't add the gif. of how the batteries charge or how the blue fills the keyboard and monitor, please please don't answer with that.

    Yeah, 5 months. I spent the first 2 months dutifully plugging and unplugging the charger (charger out, disconnect keyboard, wait for a few seconds, reconnect keyboard, connect charger) as often as I thought of it. I was heading on an overseas flight and wanted to have the Power Cover operational for it. Obviously it wasn't working by the time I flew out but luckily the seat had a power outlet so I could remain plugged in. 

    Otherwise I just have the Surface plugged in when at my desk and on battery when I am commuting to work or at a meeting. Then I noticed yesterday the battery for the Power Cover showed a number other than 0% or 100%. It made my day to see it finally doing what it was built to do! 

    I have it charging now and will be interested to see how many hours use I can now get.

    5 months?? By doing what exactly? Just got an email about this thread, I completely forgot i sent in my power cover to Microsoft under warranty. That was last November and I never got a replacement.. guess I should contact them!

    Don't give up hope. 5 months after receiving my Power Cover it has finally shown a charge and is now operating as it should.

    Update - success!!

    After months of keeping the tablet and cover charging the battery finally showed life today. I was using it away from a power source and was surprised (and delighted) to see that instead of 0%, my cover showed 33% charge. I am looking forward to getting it back on power soon to fully charge it.

    Hopefully you had a solution for your flight. I have found on international flights (with Singapore Air) there were power points under the seats so I could keep my surface running during a long haul.
