WiFi deteriorates after closing the lid on Surface Book connected to Surface Dock

If I close the lid of my Surface Book while connected to a Surface Dock, WiFi speed will drop from 54 Mbps to as low as 1 Mpbs. The WiFi router is an AT&T U-Verse Pace 3801 HGV and the power setting for close the lid while plugged in is Do Nothing. I am taking this thing back to the store for a refund if it can't be fixed.

2015-12-04T05:24:24+00:00 I have not, but I have connected a Surface Pro 3 to the same Surface Dock and a Lenovo Carbon X1 to the same mini video port to HDMI cable (and closed the Carbon X1 lid) and neither experienced signal deterioration. The signal on the Surface Book connected to the Surface Dock is stable at 54 Mbps with the lid open. If the lid is closed, the signal fluctuates and it goes down to as little as 1 Mbps. Also there is no problem with the Surface Book not connected to the Surface Dock, but in that case the lid is always open

2015-12-16T00:00:08+00:00 Thank you for this information, this is a very unusual network issue. Can you try to relocate temporary from a different room and connect the Surface Book to the docking station? Please tell us what you're experiencing. We would like to know if it's a network signal issue.

2016-01-07T16:33:18+00:00 I am having the exact same issue. With the lid open fully while docked on my Surface Book, my speed is 34 Mbps, but if I close the lid(while still docked), my Wi-Fi slows down to 2Mbps and constantly times out for many sites. This seems to be a very serious issue. I have attempted the registry hack mentioned in many articles, but it did not solve my problem.
